Romance Writer in Residence

Besides being a lover of romantic decor, shabby chic, and a romantic lifestyle, I'm also a romance author. My first mainstream romance-suspense/mystery book was Eureka Point, written with love in 2007. The book has received several 5-star reviews and is available in Kindle and paperback at Amazon.com

NOW the long-awaited sequel to Eureka Point will be released on May 10, 2012 at
Red Rose Publishing. Follow the love story between Tom and Lizzie as they marry and settle down into a lifestyle of domestic bliss, or is it?
BEYOND THE POINT

Go ahead, get swept away in two spellbinding romantic suspense thrillers!

                                                                 Beautiful Teacups

I have a few collections. There are my vintage ladies dress gloves, my hatpins, and old tin cannisters. But my very favorite collection are the vintage and antique teacups I have collected over the years. Then there are the hundreds of teacup pictures I have saved. I'm going to share some of them with you...

The Lilacs in Bloom

I wait with bated breath each spring for the lilacs to bloom. My grandmother Carvin loved lilacs too. After Grandmom Rachel passed away in the mid-sixties, my Dad would go to a nearby farm that had several very large, old lilac bushes and cut a bunch to put on her grave. He asked the farmer if he could cut them, and the old man always allowed him to. As a little girl, I would go with him and help him cut them. I remember loving the scent and thinking it was Heavenly. I still do. We would give some to my mother as well and our house would be filled with that Heavenly scent for several days in April.

Now my lilacs are in bloom. And the scent reminds me of my Grandmother Rachel, and being with my Dad, doing something out of love for his mother and my mother.

  Happy Spring!

A perfect movie to celebrate spring...

If you've never watched the BBC movie, Enchanted April, now would be a great time to treat yourself. Enchanted April is as the poster says, warm, funny, and romantic. The costumes are beautiful and so well done to fit the period (Edwardian) and the scenery is exquisite.

This film takes you on a journey of love and friendship that develops between this group of accidental friends. It's uplifting and will warm your heart.

Enchanted April is my pick for the perfect movie to celebrate spring.

February, the month of Romance

This month I'm celebrating two things, well, maybe three. First of all, welcome to my brand new romantic, shabby chic blog! This beautiful blog was made for me by my new, talented friend, Karen Valentine of Valentine Designs. Thank you, Karen!

Second, I'm celebrating February as the month of Romance - or as the chic French say, Amour. Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I'm making some lovely Valentine cards and will post them soon.

And lastly, February is the last full month in winter. Although I love the color white, I won't be sorry to see the snow melt away, and see those sweet, little crocus as they poke their heads out of the frozen earth.
